Fire and Ice Festival

The popular Fire & Ice festival is back for the second year! Trade your beach cruiser for your ice skates and enjoy a family-friendly weekend full of winter festivities, including an ice sculpture tour and live sculpture demonstration, ice skating rink, beach bonfire, and—of course—a seasonal stop at your favorite shops, restaurants, and businesses.

Fun for all ages, the Southern Delaware Tourism Ice Rink will run throughout the festival weekend. The $5 admission fee covers skate rental and 30 minutes on the ice. 100% of rink proceeds will benefit Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation.

Check out all the sculptures in town by taking a walking tour! Pick up a festival map from the Bethany Beach Ocean Suites tent on the bandstand to make sure you see them all! Sculptures will be covered up during the day to ensure they are not damaged by the suns rays, but all sculptures will be lit up, and unveiled from 4:00 – 9:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. Don’t miss the interactive sculptures on the bandstand for awesome photo opportunities!

Pick up a festival treasure map at the Bethany Beach Ocean Suites tent, located on the bandstand. Visit each stop listed on the treasure map; stop inside or see the representatives by the sculpture, and ask to have your treasure map stamped! Once you have received a stamp from all participating businesses, return to the Bethany Beach Ocean Suites tent and drop your card into the treasure chest.

Two lucky participants will a 2020 Fire & Ice Festival Package – one including at one-night stay at the Bethany Beach Ocean Suites during the 2020 Fire & Ice Festival, and the other including at one-night stay at the Bethany Beach Holiday Inn Express during the 2020 Fire & Ice Festival.

Don’t miss the live sculpture demonstration on Saturday, January 26th on the bandstand in downtown Bethany Beach, presented by Bethany Beach Ocean Suites & Holiday Inn Express. Watch as 1,500 pounds of ice are transformed into a detailed sculpture. Finish the weekend at the Festival Closing Smash Party! Watch as the ice sculptors from Ice Lab “clean up” the sculptures by smashing them to pieces.
