C'mon C'mon
Dec 16, 2021
C’mon C’mon is a deeply moving drama filmed in black & white about the connections between adults and children. Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix) is an emotionally stunted and soft-spoken radio journalist who travels the country interviewing a variety of kids about their thoughts concerning their world and their future. Then Johnny's saddled with caring for his young nephew Jesse (Woody Norman). Jesse brings a new perspective and, as they travel from state to state, effectively turns the emotional tables on Johnny. [2021, US, 108 min, Rated: R] Nate Adams of The Only Critic writes, “C'mon C'mon is both joyous and soul crushing in its presentation on parenting and childhood trauma, a memory play about the lengths we go to protect our children and the humanity found in each other.” Mike Scott of Times-Picayne pens, “The result is a movie that is poetic but entirely accessible, capturing all at once the joy and terror and wonderfulness and frustration of parenthood in one smart and deeply authentic package.” Venue: Cinema Art Theater. Presenter: Rehoboth Beach Film Society.
