Kevin Reading

AKA the Energizer Bunny!  With over 40 years in the restaurant biz, Kevin Reading is no stranger to having his hands in a lot of pots so to speak.  From his time up north at The Fox Point Grill or down south with beach favorites Sweet Dreams Bakery, Espuma & Nage, Chef Reading has left quite the delicious mark on Delaware (he also left his mark on many opponents' faces during his days as an amateur boxer in Florida-ha!).  

With a competitor's spirit, chef Reading has accumulated many accolades over his career including Sussex County Chef of the Year, Best Restaurant in the State & Delaware Restaurateur of the Year just to name a few.  Yet, his purpose has never been to win awards...instead it's to serve his guests fresh, locally sourced & innovative dishes in an inviting & relaxed setting.  

Nowadays, he's doing just that, delivering knock-outs in the kitchens of both Abbott's Grill & Brick Works Brewing & Eats locations as well as Belly Up food truck...this guy just doesn't slow down! While he may have hung up his boxing gloves a long time ago, he's now replaced them with a Pickleball paddle instead.  When he's not creating signature dishes at his current eateries, you can find him enjoying his favorite BWB IPA or competing against the best Pickleball players up & down the East coast.  Talk about having a lot of balls in the air!
